About felicity picken

Felicity is a researcher interested in exploring the social life of the blue planet including tourism, leisure and pleasure encounters, the increasingly vexed issue of aquaria, oceanic mythology and 21st century mermaids, conservation, the acceleration of scuba, snuba and other undersea ventures, undersea architecture and design and permanent living habitits.

Guardian of the Caribbean – largest undersea artificial reef

1.9 km artificial reef to be built off the coast of the Caribbean Sea, Mexico.

Forlane 6 Studio

Forlane 6 Studio use the medium of water to explore the liveliness of, often, everyday objects. This duo spends much of their time encountering the blue planet and distributing these encounters across land through their work.

This site is for anybody interested in exploring the sociality of life on a blue planet. It aims to document social life in a way that can be likened to Sir David Attenborough with cultural spectacles on!

The site includes terraqueous pleasures, like the undersea sculpture museums of deCaires Taylor in Grenada and Cancun, the city of Dubai, the ‘Sinking World’ of Andreas Franke, the art-in-motion of Forlane 6, mermaids of the 21st Century, Undersea Hotels and more.

It also includes the increasingly troubling world of Aquaria and the explorations of undersea permanent habitats.

I welcome your contribution to the site in whatever undersea venture you pursue.
